Tue, 1 Aug 2006

Why is obtaining Pressure Transient information (measuring the change of pressure over time) important and what can you expect to learn from taking the time and expense to obtain it?? The following list provides you any number of reasons and the information you can expect to receive from a test.

1) To obtain Bottom Hole Pressure

2) To determine reservoir parameters

3) For reserve estimation/commerical feasibility studies

4) For well diagnosis or troubleshooting of the: reservoir, completion, wellbore, and surface system

5) To get a reservoir geometry description and/or verify geological interpretation

6) To define developmental or continuing exploration drilling plans

7) For well history matching, production forecasting, and abandonment planning

8) For production platform, production equipment and wellbore design
