A: No. Installing the SPIDR on a well is very simple and takes about 5 minutes using an adjustable wrench.
Q: Once I've installed a SPIDR do I need to monitor it?
A: The SPIDR will wake up and start recording at a preprogrammed date and time, once its installed it requires no maintenance or service. You can, if you wish, communicate with the SPIDR using our free software to monitor the progress of your test.

A:

Q: I've installed the SPIDR, how can I check for leaks?
A: DRC includes a 2oz bottle of 'SNOOP' for detecting leaks around joints, a leak will show up as 'bubbling'. If you are conducting a build up test, check for leaks again after the well has been shut in.
Q: How do I connect an external transducer to the SPIDR?
A: If the transducer was supplied by DRC as part of the rental, simply install the external transducer in the appropriate place on the well and connect the cable to the connector marked 'channel 1' on the SPIDR. The SPIDR will have been preprogrammed with the transducer details and no additional programming or maintenance is required.
Q: Do I need to position the SPIDR in any particular location?
A: The SPIDR is not position sensitive and it can be mounted in any convenient location. Try to avoid flow lines as a mounting site if they are hot or resonate.
