Reservoir Pressure

Reservoir Pressure (P*)

Probably the most important reason to perform well testing is to measure the changing reservoir pressure as a reservoir is being produced.  Reservoirs are often assumed to have a certain shape or size based on Seismic derived data;  if the size is known then a volume can be calculated.  Measuring the change in pressure over time through a pressure build-up is fundamental in pressure transient testing.  Performing P/Z calculations is a fundamental part of the reservoir engineer’s role and obtaining P* measurements for this calculation are a basic requirement.
