Build-Up

Build-up tests require the well to be shut in after producing for an extended time at a stable rate. It is one of the most common pressure-transient tests because it is simple to conduct. Build-up tests of insufficient duration can lead to incorrect interpretation of reservoir properties. Unlike downhole recorders, the SPIDR permits real time data access thereby eliminating the guess work as to when production can be resumed. SPIDR installation for a build-up test is shown on the left.
